One Year

It's been one very long year since Lance had his stroke and 3 months at Northeast. He has come a long way for some it may seem his improvement is not fast enough but if you remember where he was last June where he is today is nothing short of miraculous!

He is receiving progressive therapies and high level energy treatments to strengthen him emotionally, physically and spiritually. His journey is going to be long but I'm confident with the help of his skilled caregivers love and support from his friends and family he will find his way back to all of us in true Lance style which is never anything less than unique. The stroke did it's damage but his spirit and heart are strong all those who come in contact with Lance know how special he is. In spite of all his deficits his presence as always is big and it gets stronger as he works tirelessly to regain what he has lost.

I realize some of you may feel out of sight out of mind but Lance wouldn't be with us today if it wasn't for the incredible out pouring of love he received from all of you during his darkest days at St. Vincent's Hospital. I believe he was inspired by that love and made a conscious decision to tough it out. We all know Lance is generous, kind, caring and loyal. He loved being the caregiver to his patients and his friends. Unfortunately today he is dependent on his caregivers, friends and family to help him stay motivated as he regains his strength. His life has changed drastically but the twinkle in his eyes, great smile and heartfelt recognition to those who visit make it clear that Lance hasn't gone anywhere, he's here for a reason and it's just a matter of time before he is back on his feet literally.

I believe that prayer is powerful and now more than ever those prayers are needed. Lance is working daily to recover his ability to speak fluently and swallow it's the 5th and 6th Chakras that need to be awakened. I know our prayers will make a difference.

P.S. During my visit last Sunday Lance proudly showed and displayed his recently received pictures and cards.

Wow.... one year has passed already. So much has happened this past year as Lance's whole world changed. This time last year many were saying their "goodbye's" to Lance. Now a year later, he is on the road to recovery... amazing!
My family and I are going to visit Lance this week and I look forward to seeing him. I know how strong Lance is mentally and physically. But as strong as he is, he needs our cards, phone calls and visits. This will inspire him to keep on fighting so he can return to the Lance we've all come to know and love.

It is life long friends like you who have given Lance the desire to work hard and stay the course so he regains what he has lost during this past year.

He appreciates all the support we give and we have to continue that positive energy during his journey to recovery.

Randy, thank you for always being there for Lance through the good, bad, thick and thin.

It has been many years since we have had any contact. But seeing Lance at the reunion at Wheatley only brought back memories of how kind and wonderful he is. I have him in my prayers everyday and pray that he will have a speedy recovery. He is amazing. Just all his different hair styles over the years show how confident a person he is and how he will be with us for a very very longtime. LaVerne please give him my love. Remind him that Mrs Prisco Denise and Henry and the rest of the family love him dearly and pray for him eachday. We know he will do this.
We love you All.

Beatrice, your heartfelt comments about Lance are truly appreciated by our family. I can tell you that Lance has always had a special bond with the Prisco family. Those memories go back to elementary school.

I know you have a very close relationship with your brother Henry so you can understand my determination to get Lance back to all of us. Please give me Denise and Henry's email address so I can keep them updated too.

We appreciate all the love and support your family is giving to Lance. I know it will bring a smile to his face.
