Well, seeing Lance now in a better state then he was - was certainly refreshing....although he is still not as far along as anyone would want him to be, and certainly not where he chooses to be, he still looked much healthier.
Being able to wheel him around and see other sights was really nice. Northeast was very spacious and well maintained, it was full of hard work on many different levels, the staff seemed very accommodating and kind to the residents. Lance was waving at many other neighbors, so he seemed to be comfortable for the most part.
We went through the Art room and Jarrid and Ryan played ping-pong while we sang some Beatles tunes with Lance, while Matt played the guitar. I got it on my video camera on my phone, which was great to watch and show others back home. Lance was singing along really well and smiling, so it was great to see him enjoying some kind of entertainment, he had no problem feeling comfortable with it. Laughing when we messed up and we did, since between the four of us, we didn't do the Beatles proud of "Yelllow Submarine" but it made me proud to see we made him enjoy our visit a little more.
His spirits were up to a degree, I know he wonders if he will ever be himself again, I feel he will and I know all his support system will help his cause as well. The drive up was scenic and with the anticipation made it longer, but going back was much easier..leaving him there was horrible, looking at him and knowing he isn't coming home within the next few weeks, is the killer..............I can see how visits from everyone is the highlight for him. All in all he is strong and healthier now then he was a year ago and I made it clear to him he is amazing and he will recover in time.................with all our prayers and support......he will.
