Hi Everyone who reads this blog:
My name is Lizzie Brown and I used to be a patient of Lance's and then over the years we became friends. When he was at St. Vincent's I would pop in to see him twice a week - as I live in the City and bike everywhere. My birthday is 24th November and Lance's is 28th so each year we would go to some fancy place and share a birthday meal ....and laugh a lot.
Last week I rented a car and drove up to Lake Katrine to see him - the first time since he moved out of the city several months ago.
It was a lovely visit and we both got to laugh a lot. I took my computer and showed him photos I'd taken on a couple of recent trips I'd made.
The nursing staff got him out of bed and into his wheelchair so I could take him to another floor for a change of scenery. I loved spending time with him.

I know visiting Lance At the new facility is not easy! You were there for him from the very beginning and your presence during his recovery process has made a differnce.
It is friends like you who help him to feel special and valued. Sharing your adventures with him keeps him connected to his life giving him the motivation to stay the course and regain what he has lost.
