It's been a long time since I've posted an update. I have been working very hard to enable Lance to receive true Acute Rehab. It wasn't easy to accomplish for many reasons. However my pleas and prayers were finally answered and he was accepted to the prestigious Helen Hayes Hospital Program. The challenges will be a real test of Lance's endurance and his perseverance emotionally and physically but he welcomes this opportunity with open arms.
I know how busy every one's life is but he is much closer to the Big Apple and they offer "dormitory accommodations" for overnight up to 3 days for visitors. All that is required is a call to Inpatient Services and a $10.00 deposit which is refunded upon departure.

Congratulations LaVerne, I know how much work it took to transfer Lance into this new facility. I'm looking forward to this new phase of his recovery and I hope I can visit soon!
LaVerne, this is wonderful news! As Petrina indicated, this was no small feat. I'm so glad he'll be closer to city and his friends.
Such great news LaVerne!!It will be good to have Lance so much closer. I have a car and could drive there this Friday - if anyone from the city wants to come with me please let me know.
